Over the past three years, Traction Rec has grown with the communities they serve. The team welcomed new YMCA and JCC partners across North America, including multiple major metropolitan YMCAs, a new JCC customer base in Toronto, and the Salvation Army Kroc Centers. In 2024, Traction Rec entered the Parks & Recreation market, focused on bringing municipal departments and special recreation districts onto our platform for the first time. In 2024, Deloitte also recognized Traction Rec as a Technology Fast 50™ and Technology Fast 500™ company.
Lara Gilchrist, CEO of Traction Rec, shared what this recognition means to the team:
"Being named to this list for a third year is a credit to our team and to the customers who trust us with work that matters to their communities. Our customers stay with us because we show up as a partner. We listen, we learn how each organization runs, and we keep building alongside them. Honestly, we love the heck out of the customers we serve, and I think they can feel it."
"Our culture is what makes that possible. We hire people who care about community, give them room to try new ideas, and trust them to own the outcome. We also keep investing in innovation, because the communities our customers serve keep changing and we want to meet those needs together. Fresh is what that investment looks like this year. We built it around how families and staff actually experience registration and booking today, so our customers can spend less time on process and more time with the people they serve. With Community Self Serve in early access and Facility Booking arriving at a key parks and recreation industry event next week, we're just getting started."
This year, Traction Rec began a new chapter. At YMCA General Assembly in New Orleans, the company introduced Fresh, a new platform built around how people search, plan, and register for programs today. Its first product, Community Self Serve, helps families find and register for programs in minutes without a call to the front desk.
Next week, at the National Recreation and Park Association annual conference in Philadelphia, Traction Rec will introduce the second product built on Fresh, a new approach to facility booking designed with staff in mind. Visit the Traction Rec team at booth #2218 to see for yourself. More products built on Fresh will follow in the new year.
